Scottsdale Weightloss Center

Getting On with your Weight Loss Workout

Between the red rocks and the lively downtown atmosphere, the area of Arizona surrounding Scottsdale, Chandler, Glendale, and Phoenix is a unique and exciting place to live. There are plenty of ways to find entertainment, from the thrills of nature to the nightly excitement that takes place in the center of the city. Just as there are plenty of options when it comes to entertainment, Scottsdale offers a wide variety of choices for a powerful workout. This is something to think about in the early days of your medical weight loss program in Scottsdale, Chandler, Glendale, and Phoenix. Instead of pushing yourself into a workout you aren’t thrilled about, find a workout that you can look forward to.

Finding a way to get positive about working out is the biggest trick in the book. When working out becomes something that you look forward to doing during the day, it becomes easier to set it as a priority.

Beating Exercise Negativity

Everyone has their own reasons for not liking certain types of exercise. Maybe running makes your knees hurt, or yoga feels too uncomfortable. Whatever your reason, it is okay to accept it. Rather than force yourself to like something that just isn’t feeling right, focus your energy on developing a positive mindset, and find something you do enjoy.

Here are a few strategies to help you beat the exercise blues:

  • Don’t ever put exercise off until tomorrow. If you are out of time for your full workout, still put on the clothes and do a shorter version. Building a habit is all about consistency. It doesn’t need to be perfect, it just needs to happen.
  • If you are having trouble finding time to work out, try going to bed a few minutes earlier and waking up earlier to fit in some exercise before work. Adjust your bedtime by just 15 minutes to start and have your clothes ready to go in the morning so you can get at least a short workout in.
  • Find an exercise that you enjoy. If you aren’t enjoying a certain workout, accept it as something with that workout and find one you do enjoy. There is something out there you’ll like. Work towards finding it.

The most effective way to overcome exercise negativity is with a positive mindset. Your mind is a very powerful instrument. Depending on how you use it, it can be a beneficial or detrimental factor in your health and fitness goals. Though you may not be able to think positively for 24 hours straight, learning to fight off negative thoughts before they have a chance to worsen will be a huge help in achieving your goals. This holds true for any and all negative thoughts, whether about work, family, future or your health. It’s up to you to turn them around and put yourself back on a healthy track.
