Figuring out which foods are best for weight loss can be confusing. Luckily, there’s a way to make healthy eating decisions much easier. FoodGauge is an app designed to analyze the nutritional value of the food you eat. It takes the guesswork out of your weight loss diet.

What is FoodGauge?

Developed by Scottsdale Weight Loss Center, FoodGauge helps patients make healthy food decisions. It tells you which foods will help most with weight loss, evaluating, and rating nutritional value. Available on iPhone and iPad.

How Does FoodGauge Work?

Enter information from any food nutrition label and hit calculate. FoodGauge will give you a numerical score that tells you if that food will help you lose weight.

What you Enter:

fat
carbohydrates
fiber
number of servings

Based on this information, FoodGauge will give you a rating between 1 and 5. Now ask yourself, is that food a good or poor choice?

How to Interperet FoodGauge Results

When you calculate a food’s nutritional value, FoodGauge will give you one of the following nutritional ratings:

4 – 5: Eat freely. These foods are the most likely to help you lose weight. These are food high in protein and/or fiber, like lean meats, fish, eggs, vegetables, and fruit.
3: Eat in moderation. These foods may not lead to weight gain, but they may not help you lose weight either. When possible, choose a 4 or 5 food instead.
1 – 2: Eat sparingly. These foods are the most likely to lead to weight gain and should usually be avoided. These foods tend to be high in carbohydrates and/or fat like sweets, butter, and cereal.

Use FoodGauge at the grocery store, restaurants, or at home. It ensures that you’re always making food choices that will help you lose weight.

I decided GLP-1 meds were the next step in losing more and keeping it off.  I wanted a medical doctor supervised program and chose SWLC. I am so very glad I did!  The team in Glendale is so supportive and kind; and when I feel discouraged, they pick me up with positive energy and input.
