I just got the Wii Fit last week and must say, I am pleasantly surprised. While I bought it for me, I don’t get to use it as much as I like, because I have to fight my 7 year old daughter for it (she, of course, wins this battle).
Set up was a breeze, and the interface is intuitive and easy to navigate. The exercises are broken down into 4 disciplines: yoga, aerobics, balance and strengthening. I was surprised at the intensity of the workout, and used some muscles I don’t work out during my marathon training. I like the progress tracking, and while the weight is off by several pounds, you can set goals for weight loss.
While the Wii Fit age feature is suspect, this feature adds to the fun of the experience. Since my philosophy for exercise is: “The only bad exercise is the one you don’t do,” I recommend this without reservation for kids wanting to get more active, and adults alike.
