- Consumption of more than one egg per day was NOT associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
- Consumption of more than one egg per day was associated with a REDUCTION in the risk of coronary artery disease.

In short, eggs are nutrient dense. They include minerals, folate, B vitamins, and fat soluble vitamins. They are a rich source of bioactive compounds (lutein and zeaxanthin) and are a high quality protein. The 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans no longer includes a recommended limit on egg intake. It actually recommends eggs as a part of healthy eating patterns.
